A few days before I visited the Taj Mahal in Agra, Uttar Pradesh with my elder brother. It was a not-so-well-planned trip. It was just a sudden decision to go to Agra and visit the beautiful Taj Mahal. Actually, I got to know that my brother had never been to the Taj Mahal, so I forced him to visit the most beautiful historical landmark in India. After a little bit of insisting, he agreed and we left for the Agra instantly.
Agra is not so far from my hometown. I live in the Gwalior city of Madhya Pradesh which is around 100 kilometers from Agra city. I and my brother leave for Agra from Gwalior and within 2 hours of driving, we reach the destination. It was my first out-of-town trip after the lockdown. Although I and my brother got complete vaccination still we were very careful and conscious of the precautions regarding Covid-19 to ensure a safe journey.

My Trip To Taj Mahal Agra From Gwalior
Agra is a historical city situated on the banks of the Yamuna River in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The city has many historical landmarks and of all the landmarks the Taj Mahal is Agra’s most prized monument. The Taj Mahal is one of the 11 best tourist places to visit in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.
We left for Agra from Gwalior at around 10 o’clock and reached the destination at 12 o’clock. The Gwalior-Agra highway is in good condition, we didn’t face any hassle or difficulty on our way to the Taj Mahal. I parked my car in the provided paid parking area of the Taj Mahal’s western entrance gate.
Entry to the Taj Mahal
The western entrance is the main gateway of the Taj Mahal and it is built in red sandstone. The western gate faces towards Green Shahjahan Garden, Agra cantonment, and Agra city. Other than this gate, two other entrance gates are also available known as The Eastern Gate and The Southern Gate.
Story of Taj Mahal in Short
Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal between the years 1632 to 1643 in memory of his beautiful wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is said that around 20,000 workers built the Taj Mahal and on the orders of Emperor Shah Jahan the hands of all 20,000 workers were chopped off, so they can not make another masterpiece like that. Although, there is not enough proof of such an incident.
My Experience of the Taj
Like every time, I found the Taj Mahal so mesmerizing and beautiful that I got lost in its beauty. And my brother was stunned after seeing the Taj Mahal. He just can’t take his eyes off the magnificent white marble wonder of the world. He said that he has been to many historical places before but the Taj Mahal is the best place he has ever visited in his life.
No doubt, the Taj Mahal is the most beautiful and best tourist place in India. It is a very well-maintained and clean monument with absolutely stunning architecture. My experience of my visit to the Taj Mahal was good and I can say that this historical monument and beautiful landmark is definitely worth a visit.
